Description

The ºÚÁÏרÇø Project Associate (IPA) Scheme allows Home Institutes from the ºÚÁÏרÇø Members to assign employees on technical as well as support activities to the ºÚÁÏרÇø. Through this scheme, Home Institute employees can contribute with their expertise to strengthen international cooperation and integration between the ºÚÁÏרÇø Central Team and the Domestic Agencies/ºÚÁÏרÇø Members.

IPA opportunities are limited to nationals from countries participating in the ºÚÁÏרÇø Project (China, the European Union, India, Japan, Korea, Russia and the United States).

The proposed IPA(s) must be employed by the Home Institute (HI) at the time of submission of the proposal.

Purpose/Scope:

The IPA will support design activities related to the Neutral Beam Project, including:

• Performs execution of technical studies, impact assessment, and implementation of change requests and design review preparations; identifies and reports new issues or any deviation.
• Produces deliverables in accordance with the 3d work plans proposed by technical teams, such as general arrangement/layout drawings, schematics, 3D models, assembly/part drawings, isometrics, tolerance chain analysis, assembly and built-to-print drawings (following ISO 22081:2021), bills of materials, 3D simulations, tagging & other CAD data to support all phases (design, procurement, pre-assembly, installation & commissioning);

• Supports mechanical design activities, involving part and assembly design, generative shape design, and structure design using CATIA, with the ability to produce 3D models, 2D drawings, Bills of Materials (BOM), and component lists.
• Contributes to Plant Design activities,Ìýcovering piping and hanger design, equipment arrangement, and systems space reservation, using catalogue management tools such as CADENAS and EnS.
• Prepares drawings and technical documentations, including drafting, generation of isometric drawings with I-RUN/ ISOGEN etc. ; diagram types include Process Flow Diagrams (PFD), Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID), Control Block Diagrams (CBD), and Single Line Diagrams (SLD) using the SSD (See System Design (CAD software from IGE XAO)) tool.
• Manages multiple concurrent tasks by setting clear priorities and tracking progress systematically.
• Ensures that decisions are documented clearly and traceably, using verifiable data and task-related facts.
• Performs any other activities related to the overall IPA tasks.

  Technical Competencies:

  • ENOVIA: Competence in CAD data management and the lifecycle of data.
  • CATIA: Ability to create 3D models, 2D drawings, Bill of Materials (BOM), and lists.
  • Knowledge about diagram types is required (e.g., PFD, PID, CBD, SLD).
  • Drawings: Creation of drawing following ISO 22081:2021

  Experience:

  • Mechanical Design (Part Design, Assembly Design, Generative Shape Design, Structure Design)

Purpose/Scope:

The IPA resource required within this statement falls within the frame of the design and construction phases of the penetrations backfilling within the Tokamak Complex.

This resource will play a key role in a mission of the Building and Civil WorksÌýSection, which is to ensure the follow-up of the design and construction of the design of the penetration backfilling and other civil works activities within the Tokamak Complex

The resource will take part in the preparation, update, and management of the design input data and other technical information necessary to fully define the ºÚÁÏרÇø requirements.

The resource will play a role in the support of the Design and Construction works done by contractors and ensure the implementation of the ºÚÁÏרÇø project management systems, in particular for those that have nuclear safety requirements.

In addition, the resource will support the Building and Civil Works Section in the frame of oversight of design activities within the Tokamak Complex

• Undertakes the day-to-day preparation, updates, and follow-up of the technical documentation that forms theÌýºÚÁÏרÇø requirements forÌýbuildings, with a specific focus on the penetrations, temporary openings backfilling, and finishing ofÌýthe Tokamak Complex.
• Assesses Deviation Requests and Proposed field modifications raised by the Contractors, including the preparation and support of the follow-up of associated Project Change Requests where necessary.
• Assesses designs prepared by the contractors and takes an active role as a technical expert in design reviews for penetrations backfilling and other civil works.
• Undertakes on-site engineering support activities and assists the IO staff who undertake audits to ensure that construction activities for penetrations backfilling are carried out in accordance with approved designs.
• Ensures full traceability of activities from design through construction and as-built documentation, including the verification and follow-up of relevant records;
• Writes technical documents, procedures, and work instructions to support project activities and effectively reviews and verifies technical reports and deliverables produced by contractors and other stakeholders;

  Experience of :

  - implementation of rigorous Quality AssuranceÌýprocedures & management of associated documentation;

  - preparing presentations, writing reports & communicating effectively in English;
